Bray boss Harry Kenny: 'We should have got something from the game'

Bray Wanderers manager Harry Kenny feels that his side could have easily come away with at least a point from their visit to Turners Cross on Friday night.

Cork City could have been well out of sight if they converted their chances in the opening half. But Bray regrouped after the break and were arguably the better side in the second period.

"I thought that we were really good for 35-40 minutes of the second half even. Based on that display in the second half, we should maybe have gotten something from the game," said Kenny.

The former Shamrock Rovers full back has overseen vast improvements since he took over as manager at the Carlisle Grounds ten months ago.

Wanderers lie in third place in the table, level on goal difference with the League Of Ireland champions of the last three years, Dundalk.

Bray's brand of football has been pleasing on the eye and the likes of Dylan Connolly and Gary McCabe have put in some impressive performances to date.

Kenny admitted after the game that he felt Connolly is the best wide player in the League Of Ireland at present.

And although he managed to cause a few headaches for the Cork defence, the Bray manager feels even with only a third of the season gone, the Premier Division title is Cork City's to lose.

"Even at this early stage with 11 games gone, it's theirs to lose. Fair dues to them, they have kept it going.

"In my view they are beatable. We started to see that a bit in the second half. But you have to hold your hands up, they are churning out results, they are scoring goals and they are dangerous around the top end of the pitch."

Next for up Bray in the league is a home clash next Friday night with St Patrick's Athletic.

Wanderers are the second highest scorers in the Premier Division with 25 goals and they will hope to maintain that scoring rate in the second series of games.
