Cork City announce Ipswich friendly
Cork City FC and Ipswich Town FC today announced that the two clubs have agreed to play a friendly match in Cork this July. The match will see Roy Keane taking his new side to Turner’s Cross to take on Paul Doolin’s League of Ireland Premier Division leaders in a match that is sure to attract significant interest. Further details regarding the fixture will be announced in the coming days.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, Cork City manager Paul Doolin said: “Roy Keane is obviously a very popular figure in Cork and will be a very welcome visitor to Turner’s Cross. It’s always good to have friendly matches against English clubs, and it is also good for Cork City as a club. I would hope there would be a very good turnout for the game, as there was for the game against Sunderland a couple of years ago.”
