EA SPORTS CUP:

Galway United 0-2 U.C.D FT - Preview - Lineups
Sporting Fingal 0-1 Sligo Rovers FT - Preview - Lineups

21:41: Game over in Galway as UCD run out 2-0 winners!! Thus concludes our Live Updates tonight, but tune in tomorrow when we will be covering the other two Quarters. Reports will follow shortly from tonight's matches and previews of the games tomorrow.

21:39: Full time at Morton Stadium and for the second year in a row Sporting Fingal bow out at the quarter-final stages. Ross Gaynor's penalty miss proves to be decisive as Raf Cretaro's goal is enough for the Bit O Red to make it into the semi finals of the EA Cup

21:35: Yellow card UCD's Ronan Finn 89mins. And it's FULL TIME in Fingal. Sligo win.

21:35: UCD have virtually sealed it hear and in the worst way for the home side when a shot from out wide by Peter McMahon deflects off defender Shane Guthrie and goes in. there is 3 minutes stoppage time in Fingal!!!

21:33: Conan Byrne gets himself on the end of a cross from the right but his header is tipped over by Brush. Fingal make two late changes as they search for an equaliser

21:32: GOAL!! UCD goal, own goal off Shane Guthrie. 85th minute.

21:31: UCD sub James Timmons for Keith Ward 83mins Yellow card to UCD's David McMillan

21:29: Great save by Barry Ryan on a shot from David McMillan who had just Ryan to beat after bringing the ball down from over half way. McMahon then hits the post. UCD trying their best to put the game beyond reach for Galway here.

21:27: Fan favourite Owen Morrison is on for Brian Cash as Sligo try to see out the game, McArdle makes way for Fitzgerald for the home side

21:24: Free kick to Galway at the top of the box for a tackle on Jay O'Shea that really should have at least been a booking. O'Shea takes the kick, but curls it straight into the waiting arms of Billy Brennan. Galway sub Declan Edwards for Iarfhlaith Davoren 78mins

In Morton, Just about 15 minutes left here, the home side starting to play a bit more in the sligo half, will there be late drama?

21:19: Galway sub Derek O'Brien for John Russell on 71mins

21:16: Byrne’s right wing cross found Ross Gaynor and it looked like his header was creping into the net but Brush plucked it out of the air with a diving save.

21:14: Chris Mulhall puts UCD 1-0 up with a straight one on one with Ryan. Mark O'Toole made the initial defensive error for Galway, a poor touch giving UCD possession directly in front and about 35 yards out. Substitute David McMillan grabbed it, passing to Keith Ward who shot it back inside to a wide open Mulhall.

21:12: GOAL!! UCD goal - Chris Mulhall - 65mins

21:10: Shane McFaul latches onto Alan Kirby's square pass and his curling effort forces a good save from the Sligo keeper

21:07: Fingal haven't really passed the ball around as well as they did in the first half. Brush hasn't been tested in the second half at all. Liam Buckley must be thinking about a change

21:02: RED CARD Garry Breen for Galway has been sent off!! Was the last man back and tripped Ciaran Nangle about 25 yards out

21:02: Sligo are just beginning to take the sting out of the game with a period of sustained possession. UCD sub, Michael Kelly on for injured Timmy Purcell.

20:59: Grace Uhr in Galway: "Rain falling lightly now here at Terryland although the sun's still out and Barry Ryan is copping the glare straight in the face. Might be interested in a hat sponsorship deal by the looks if there's anyone out there wanting to come to the party!"

20:56: UCD sub David McMillan for John Dineen at half time. Paul in Morton tells me Sligo sub Owen Morrisson and the home fans are becoming best friends. They are giving him loads of stick and he is giving it back!

20:52: Galway get underway again as Grace Uhr munches away on some fine Curried Chips.

20:50: Game on in Fingal as the rain hammers down. It's a night to be indoors, remembering a time when Ireland got summers.

20:41: Half time is time for a Cup of Tea. Email us or comment below!!! We would love to hear from you!!

20:35: Half time at Morton Stadium and its Sligo who lead against the run of play you have to say. Sporting missed an early penalty after Ross Gaynor fired straight at Richard Brush. They were made to pay just before half time when Raf Cretaro's brave header gave Paul Cook's side the lead. This game though isn't over by a long shot!

20:34: Jay O'Shea gets a yellow card after the whistle for kicking the ball away

20:33: It should have been two nil to Sligo. Cash again with a wicked delivery which found Parkhouse. His header was brilliantly saved by Quigley and the striker put the rebound wide under pressure

20:29: GOAL!! SLIGO ROVERS have scored...Raf Cretaro on 42 minutes has put Sligo in the lead. Cracking ball in behind John Frost from Richie Ryan to find Cash. He over hit the initial cross , Parkhouse retrieved it and found Cretaro who dived in bravely to plant the ball into the back of the net

20:21: Paul Moore - "After a fairly hectic opening first 20 its slowed down a bit here. Fingal's crossing from wide areas has been excellent. I bet Liam Buckley wishes Eamon Zayed was fit, he would thrive on delivery delivery this good"

In Galway, First good opportunity to the visitors from a corner taken by Ronan Finn, Evan McMillan with a header from the penalty spot, but Barry Ryan is on the spot to take the save right at his chest.

20:18: Stephen Parkhouse goes into the referee's book for dissent for Sligo.

20:18: It's a bit of a non-event so far here in Terryland. Galway have the ascendancy slightly, but aren't really creating much. O'Shea had another shot just then which went wide. John Russell's beginning to look like he's finding his form again after his pre-season injury.

20:16: First booking of the game for Sligo Rovers. Gavin Peers for a clumsy challenge on Ross Gaynor on the half way line.

20:14: Half an hour gone in each game and so far Fingal missing a penalty has been the most exciting moment of the games.

20:11: Great footwork from Cretaro against Whelan in the left corner. He left the defender for dead and crossed for Parkhouse. But the ex Finn Harps man couldn’t get the ball under control.

20:08: Paul Moore in Morton - "From the opening 20 minutes so far its hard to tell who are the Premier League team"

20:06: Galway: O'Shea shot just deflected wide after some good lead up work from Michael McGrath and John Russell

20:00: PENALTY MISS Sporting Fingal win a penalty...and ROSS GAYNOR has missed it!!! Drama in Fingal. It was a poor penalty from Gaynor he put it just slightly right of the middle of the net

19:58: Fingal: Home side starting to come into this. Ross Gaynor won a flick on from Colm James free kick. The ball broke to Conan but the winger couldn’t keep his effort on target. Shaun Williams tried his luck from a long range free kick but didn’t test Brush in goal. 12 minutes gone.

Galway: David Cooke pushes one across the goal face and it's Galway looking the slightly stronger outfit in the opening minutes.

19:57: Galway: Good run down the left flank by John Russell and he forces the first corner for Galway. It was only half cleared and Faherty went close to deflecting in a header from an O'Shea cross but it sailed over the bar.

19:54: Clever short corner from Sligo. Richie Ryan tries to curl it into the top corner but sails over

19:51: Bad decision by the assistant referee in Fingal . Conan Byrne had the ball in the corner Danny Ventre clearly played it out for a corner and a goal kick given.

In Galway, Jay O'Shea is playing in a very forward position this evening, although continues in his roaming role. Meanwhile UCD have opted for a 4-5-1 set up with Timmy Purcell the sole man up front.

19:48: The weather has gone to hell in Fingal with the blast of the ref's starting whistle, early shot from Gavin Peers that Quigley does well to get down and save.

19:47: Action underway. Remember we will have a winner in both games tonight, as they will go to extra time and penalties if needs be.

19:46: Fair play to both managers in the Sporting game, they picked the strongest teams available to them. Clearly both fancy this one. Game on in Galway, and game on in Fingal.....

19:43: Before kick-off and our man Paul Moore has made a bold, nay, a very bold prediction. "Sporting Fingal will lift a major piece of silverware within the next five years. With the amount of quality players that they can attract to the club it seems a good bet." - Do you have any comments on that?! Email us. Personally I can see them winning at least the Europa Cup. At least.......

19:41: Grace Uhr - "Another tiny crowd here tonight. When the teams come out on the ground it will pretty much double the head count here. Disappointing." - oh dear.

19:41: The Sporting Fingal match lineups are in. Two changes for the home side, Shaun Williams comes back in for Robert Bayly while Fiachra McArdle replaces Robbie Doyle up front. Paul Cook makes one change from the team that drew against St Pats, Steve Feeney comes in for Mauro Almeida. All that is left now is for the games to start and that will be in five minutes. The tension and excitement, unbearable. It's Monday night, its EA SPORTS CUP QUARTER FINAL TIME....

19:28: Paul Moore is in position in Morton and the most important update of the night is, the weather - " the rain has stopped here for the moment but the pitch is very damp and should make for some good viewing. It really is a case of the new against the old at Morton Stadium. Paul Cook pulled off a miracle to get Sligo into the Europa Cup last season but of course he was on the verge of leaving after the club limited his squad over the summer. On the flip side to that is Liam Buckley who has signed big and he has a squad Premier division teams would like. " - Paul informs me the team lineups are not ready yet but the moment they are we will bring them to you.

19:02: We have the line-ups for the Galway game and you can access them via the link above. A strong team, proving Ian Foster is serious about wanting to win this trophy. There are no changes to the side that beat Bray on Friday. UCD at a quick glance has six changes, with Brennan, Leahy, Nangle, Dineen, McMahon and Purcell all starting. No Ciaran Kilduff tonight.

18:58: Grace Uhr is our reporter in Terryland, and she informed me that it's a clear enough evening however dark clouds loom on the horizon and are ominously creeping towards the Galway United home ground
