Finn Harps sign Haiti international Pascal Millien

Finn Harps have bolstered their squad with the acquisition of former Sligo Rovers midfielder Pascal Millien, subject to international clearance.

The 30-year-old Haiti international, who was a league winner with the Bit O’Red, returns to Ireland after spells in Bangladesh, Thailand and Italy which was followed by three seasons in the NASL with Jacksonville Armada and most recently Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

Millien had been training with Cork City during pre-season but didn't sign a contract with the Leesiders, allowing Harps manager Ollie Horgan to swoop for the winger.

Having picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw with Galway United at Finn Park on Friday night, the club confirmed their latest signing on their website on Saturday morning.

“He will give us more options which will be needed for a long, tough season,” said Horgan.

“He’s a very experienced player and a big plus for us is that he knows the League of Ireland scene well having played two seasons with Sligo Rovers where he won a Premier Division medal and an FAI Cup title.

“Pascal is an attacking midfielder who can score goals. He is good at linking up with front men so hopefully he can strike up a good understanding with our forwards”

Millien had started his professional career with Tampa Bay Rowdies and spent two seasons with Sligo before departing for Sheikh Russell KC of Bangladesh in 2014.

He then spent time playing for Samut Songkhram in the Thai League and a stint in the lower echelons of Italian football with Fidelis Andria followed.
