Marc Kenny appointed Bray Wanderers U19 head coach
Bray Wanderers have announced the appointment of Marc Kenny as the new head coach of the clubs Under 19s side. The 43-year-old joins with a wealth of experience as both a player as well as a coach.
Kenny is a Guinness World Record holder as the captain of the Home Farm schoolboys team who went six seasons undefeated in the late 1980’s and has also been capped at Under 16, Under 17 and Under 18 level for his country.
He spent three seasons at Liverpool F.C before spending a further three seasons in the Northern Irish Premier Division with both Bangor F.C and Glenavon F.C. He later signed for Shamrock Rovers in October of 1996, making his debut against Finn Harps on the 12th of that month, scoring his first goal against Bohemians in a 3-2 win at Tolka Park the following week.
Kenny would leave for Kildare County in 2003 but returned to the Hoops the following season before spending short spells with Dublin City, Monaghan United as well as a final spell with Rovers in 20015 before retiring at the end of that season.
He has also had roles as a coach with Phoenix F.C in the Leinster Senior League as well as most recently with the Shamrock Rovers Under 19 squad.
Marc has also appointed his backroom staff for the coming season with Jason McGuinness as his assistant manager, Karl Keogh as his assistant coach, David Bourke as his goalkeeping coach and David Kenny in charge of logistics.
