Limerick land Brazilian Rodrigo Tosi

Limerick unveiled much travelled Brazilian forward Rodrigo Tosi as their latest close-season signing on Saturday.

The 34-year-old veteran was most recently with Indonesian side Persija Jakarta and had been training with Limerick before putting pen to paper for the upcoming season.

He will add to a number of attacking options already available to manager Martin Russell, who nabbed Chiedozie Ogbene from Cork City less than 48 hours prior to this latest signing.

Tosi began his career in his native Brazil with Clube Malutrom and brief spells in Malaysian and Greek football followed before moving to Switzerland with FC Olten in 2008.

While in Switzerland, he also represented Neuchâtel Xamax and Lausanne-Sport, for whom he played in the Europa League group stages in 2010.

He later spent time plying his trade in Iran before signing for DPMM FC, where he played in 2013 alongside former Limerick man Joe Gamble.

Tosi was the top scorer in the Singapore League the following year, scoring an incredible 24 goals in just 26 matches as DPMM narrowly missed out on the title.

He thereafter returned home to Paraná, the club he represented at youth level, before another stint in Singapore and later Indonesia.
