Derry City announce intensive pre-season schedule
Fresh off the back of an emphatic 2-1 victory over Dutch side RKSV Leonidas, Derry City have announced a number of friendly fixtures in preparation for the 2017 season.
Kenny Shiels' squad will face off against the North West Junior side on Saturday, January 21st in Derry at 2pm before taking on Greencastle on February 4th to mark the first anniversary of the death of the club’s leading goal scorer Mark Farren.
The Candystripes will then travel to Dublin, where they will undergo an intense training camp and play three games in three days.
Derry will come up against UCD on February 6th at the UCD Bowl at 2pm before facing Cabinteely the following day, also at 2pm. City’s short stay in Dublin will conclude at Shelbourne with kick off at 6pm on February 8th.
The Foylesiders will return north to face local rivals Institute in the Billy Kee Memorial Cup game at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday February 15th at 7.30pm.
Derry will then prepare to take on Coleraine at Maginn Park, the ‘Candystripes’ new home for the 2017 season at 7.45pm on February 17th.
The northwest outfit will conclude their pre-season against Dergview at Maginn Park at 7.30pm on February 21th, before travelling to Dublin to start their league campaign against Bohemians on February 24th.
