Youths sign striker Lee Duffy

Wexford Youths have added striker Lee Duffy to their squad with the 25-year-old joining from Longford Town.

Duffy began his career with Shelbourne, joining from Ballymun United, in 2014 before leaving to join Drogheda United the following season along with manager Johnny McDonell.

He scored seven goals in 25 appearances in his one season at United Park, scoring on his debut in the Leinster Senior Cup against Longford Town. He made the move to Longford for the 2016 season where he scored one goal in his 11 league appearances.

“I’m delighted to be here,” said Duffy after his first training session with his new club. “I’m looking forward to getting to work straight away.

“Damian is a fantastic coach and I’m really excited for the coming season,” said Duffy about joining up with Damian Locke’s Wexford Youth team.

Youths pre-season will include a friendly against Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds on 27 January before beginning their First Division campaign away to Cobh Ramblers on the 24 February.
