Waterford United sign Mark O'Sullivan from Cork City along with Wexford defender Conor Whittle

Waterford have secured the services of striker Mark O’Sullivan from Cork City and defender Connor Whittle from Wexford Youths ahead of the 2017 First Division season.

 

33-year-old O'Sullivan joins with plenty of goalscoring experience, having scored 25 times in 88 appearances at Turner’s Cross over two spells with the Leesiders.

.

21-year-old Whittle returns for a second spell at the RSC having plied his trade at Wexford Youths for the past two seasons.

 

The pair are the twelfth and thirteenth players confirmed for the Blues for the 2017 season

 

“As you’ve seen, we’ve set a high standard and have brought in a high calibre of player by trying to sell them the project of what we’re trying to do here,” head coach Alan Reynolds said.

 



“We will have a number of trial players coming in because we need the right type of player and of the right standard.

 

“We are just asking everyone to get behind us to try make this project successful.”

 

Waterford play Bray Wanderers in a friendly at home on the 4th of February, while the travel to Lisseywoolen to take on Athlone in their opening game of the season on the 24th.
