Bonner returns home to Donegal
Finn Harps have announced that Jonny Bonner has signed for the Premier Division outfit ahead of the new season.
The Buncrana native has spent the last two years in the south-east with Wexford Youths, being a regular in the side as Youths returned to the second tier.
It will be Bonner’s second spell with Harps having made 21 First Division appearances for the club between 2013-2014, before joining Letterkenny Rovers.
The midfielder is another addition to the Ballybofey men’s squad and manager Ollie Horgan was full of praise for the 25-year-old.
Horgan told finnharps.com: “It’s important to get a player of Jonny’s talent signed. He’s a fine footballer and hopefully he will play a big part for us next season.”
Bonner came through the Derry City academy, without making the senior grade, before spending time in America at Illinois University prior to returning to play League of Ireland football with Harps four years ago.
Others already signed with the Donegal club for 2017 include Danny Morrissey, Ryan McConnell and Ciaran Coll.
