Wexford sign John McKeown from play-off conquerors Drogheda
Wexford Youths manager Damian Locke has made another addition to his 2017 squad with the signing of midfielder John McKeown.
McKeown signs for the Slaneysiders having spent last season in the Premier Division with Longford Town, although he spent a large portion of the year with Drogheda United on loan due to limited playing chances in the midlands.
The former Cabinteely captain was part of the Drogs team which relegated his new employers from the top flight in November following a memorable play-off triumph.
22-year-old McKeown was also the man who scored Cabo’s first goal in League of Ireland football in March 2015 – coincidentally a strike that also came against Youths.
The Irish University team member becomes the south-easterners' seventh season ahead of the new season.
