Dane Massey signs new Dundalk deal

On the day where Ronan Finn departed, there is some good news for Dundalk supporters with confirmation that left-back Dane Massey will play for the club in 2017.

Massey has been an integral part of Stephen Kenny’s team over the last four seasons, winning three league titles, the FAI and EA Sports Cups and lining out in all six of Dundalk’s Europa League group games last season.

The former Bray Wanderers’ defender was one of Kenny’s first signings at the club and, while originally being used as a central defender, he has gone on to establish himself as the country’s most consistent full-back, amassing over 160 appearances for the Lilywhites in the process.

He becomes the twelfth confirmed member of the Dundalk squad for the new season.
