Dylan Connolly signs new Bray deal

Highly rated Ireland U21 international Dylan Connolly has put an end to discussion surrounding his future by signing a new two year contract with Bray Wanderers.

The news comes on the back of Dundalk's growing interest in the player. They were looking to find a replacement for Daryl Horgan, who moved to English Championship side Preston North End during the week.

Connolly joined the Seagulls from Ipswich Town at the start of the 2016 League of Ireland season. During his first campaign with the Wicklow side in all competitions he played 35 times, finding the back of the net on seven occasions. 

Connolly's consistently good displays helped Harry Kenny's side to a sixth place finish in the league last season. Along with a few big name arrivals, such as Gary McCabe and Aaron Greene (see here), Connolly's commitment to the club for another two years will only add to the positive mood surrounding Bray at the present moment in time.

Giving his thoughts following the signing of his new contract, Connolly said "the past season was a brilliant part of my career and I look forward to repaying the clubs confidence in me as we strive to finish in the top part of the SSE Airtricity League.

"Harry Kenny had a huge impact on my football last season and I am grateful for what he has helped me to achieve."
