Jack Brady joins Longford from Shelbourne

Longford Town have today (Friday) announced the signing of goalkeeper Jack Brady from Shelbourne.

The 19-year-old Tipperary native had been part of Shels’ underage setup before being added to the first team squad by Johnny McDonnell in May of 2014.

Brady appeared on the bench throughout the 2015 season before making his debut in October in a 2-0 victory at home to Cobh Ramblers.

The teenager would have a bigger role to play in the 2016 season, as he made 17 league appearances and won Shelbourne’s Player of the Year award.

The signing of Brady brings Longford’s squad to nine ahead of the 2017 season, with David O’Sullivan, Kevin O’Connor, Don Cowan, Paul Skinner, Rhys Gorman and Noel Haverty re-signing, while Aidan Friel and Gavin Boyne have signed from Wexford Youths and Shelbourne respectively.
