Jason McGuinness gets five-game ban
Having already received sanction from his club in relation to an incident involving Sligo Rovers' striker Romauld Boco, Jason McGuinness has today been banned for five games by the FAI for the racist abuse that he aimed at the Benin international.
In a statement released this evening, the FAI confirmed the following:
"The Independent Disciplinary Committee today found that Mr. Jason McGuinness subjected Mr. Romauld Boco to racial abuse during the match between Sligo Rovers and Bohemian FC on April 18th, 2009 and has imposed a 5 match suspension in accordance with FAI rules 73 and 89. The sanction is effective from May 20th, 2009."
