Latest FIFA Rankings Released
The latest FIFA world rankings were released on Thursday (October 20th) for the first time since September 15th.
The Republic of Ireland have fallen two spots to 33rd, despite beating Georgia and Moldova in their only two matches since the last rankings were published by football’s world governing body.
Elsewhere, our good neighbours England remain 12th in the rankings after new manager Gareth Southgate earned a win over Malta and a draw in Slovenia.
Chris Coleman’s Welsh side have fallen one place to 12th in the world after draws against fellow Group D sides Georgia and Austria.
Northern Ireland are Britain’s biggest movers; they plummet six places to 36th after a 4-0 demolition of San Marino and a 2-0 away defeat to World Champions Germany.
So, what about the top of the rankings. Well, Argentina remain top of the FIFA list, Germany climb into second, Brazil force their way into third spot, while Roberto Martinez’s Belgium drop two places to fourth.
