Wexford hoping for change in Oriel fortunes

Wexford manager Mick Wallace will return to the helm after missing the draw with Kildare, as the Youths' owner and manager was in Italy with the Wexford U16 side on their annual Easter trip, where they won four of their five games in the underage tournament./

Wexford travelled to Oriel Park twice last season but failed to pick up any points from the hosts and hope that the new season will bring better luck for the visitors, who lost their first away game of the season at Jackman Park two weeks ago by two goals to nil after conceding two penalties in the last three minutes against Limerick 37.

"Of course it's going to be a tough game," Wallace admitted, "as Dundalk are my favourites to win the division and Gill is a good, experienced manager.

"We're on a high after a great win against Cobh in the League Cup on Tuesday though, where five U18 players started for us.

"We lost there twice last season but it was 0-0 up to the 70th minute on both occasions and I think Dundalk's experience told in the end. We're not as inexperienced as we were last year though, so we'll see how much we've come on as a side."

Wallace will hope that he will be celebrating after the game and toasting a win, as the Wexford manager admitted,"Dundalk also have the best bar in the league!"

Joey Wadding is suspended for the game.
