Dundalk's Gary Rogers called up to Ireland squad
Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Senior Men’s International squad ahead of the friendly against Oman and opening 2018 World Cup Qualifier away in Serbia.
Martin O’Neill has called up the Lilywhites goalkeeper after David Forde elected to return to his club Portsmouth to ensure he keeps his places as Paul Cook’s number one at Fratton Park.
Meath native Rogers was previously called up to the senior international squad for the pre-Euro 2016 friendlies with the Netherlands and Belarus.
It’s not yet clear if Rogers will miss Tuesday night’s FAI Cup last 16 tie with Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United due to his call up to Martin O’Neill’s squad.
