Thomas "Cooper" Donnelly and Kildare County have departed company after the 5-1 defeat to Monaghan United on Friday night.

The club announced the departure of the manager on their official website, www.kildarecountyfc.com, on Sunday. The club went on to say, "The club are currently interviewing candidates and hope to be in a position to name a new manager in the near future.".

The Kildare town native took the reigns of the Thoroughbreds after their play-off defeat to Galway side Mervue United at the end of last season. The club were drafted late into the First Division after Cobh Ramblers failed to secure a licence.

Kildare County have lost seven of their eight games this season, conceding 31 goals, and scoring only 3.
