Limerick FC -v- Waterford United
Limerick FC host their Munster rivals Waterford United at Jackman Park this Friday (Kick-off 7:45p.m). Limerick recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over struggling Kildare County last Friday but Stephen Henderson’s side travel to Limerick on the back of four consecutive league victories which has seen them climb to third place.
Current Form
Since Pat Scully has taken over as Limerick manager the Shannonsiders have conceded only one goal which was an away defeat to Shelbourne. Limerick have since picked up a draw against Monaghan United and now have two consecutive league victories against Wexford and Kildare County.
Waterford have a 100% away record, with three wins out of three, so it will be very difficult to separate these two sides on Friday. Limerick’s tight defence under Scully will be tested on Friday as Stephen Henderson’s side have scored nine goals in their previous two games.

Speaking about last week’s 6-0 win over Monaghan United, Stephen Henderson said “I told you recently that Graham did not like playing up front but I have won him around. I enjoyed working with him at Cobh, and just like all the players I brought to this club he is loving every minute of it here at the RSC.”
“I have to agree that his header was out of this world. You don’t see enough of that in football these days. It was a great cross by Alan Carey and goals like that excite supporters.”
Team News
Limerick have the tougher of team selection worries as Pat Scully is without the services of both Jason Hughes and Ian Storan who will be representing the Ireland schoolboys against England on Friday at the RSC, Waterford. Both John Tierney and Paul Cummins returned to training this week and face late fitness tests to determine if they can take part on Friday.
Both sides don’t have any suspensions to worry about but Waterford’s Paul Carey is very doubtful for Friday’s clash due to injury.
Extratime.ie Prediction:
Limerick 1 – 1 Waterford
