Drogheda Sign Kevin Farragher As Trio Leave

Drogheda United have completed the signing of former Athlone Town defender Kevin Farragher.

Farragher was a member of St. Patrick's Athletic U19 side in 2011 and made his senior debut in 2012, in a 4-0 Leinster Senior Cup win over Phoenix FC. He was then sent on loan to Athlone Town in 2013, however his stay was short and he returned to Pats in March but left shortly after.

Farragher then joined up with Pete Mahon at Malahide United in 2015 before making the step back up to League of Ireland football as he signed for Athlone Town in January of this year. He made 10 appearances for Athlone before he was one of the exodus of players to leave the club in June.

He will now join up with Pete Mahon again as he signs for the Drogs, who are short on defenders, following the release of Joe Jackson and Niall Cooney deciding to take a step away from football. Meanwhile, midfielder Eoin Kirwan has also been released from the club.
