UEFA licences confirmed
The FAI has today released a statement regarding the participation of clubs in the 2009/2010 UEFA club season. It reads as follows:
The Football Association of Ireland’s Club Licensing Committee has today awarded UEFA licences to four League of Ireland clubs for the 2009/2010 UEFA Club Competition season.
Bohemian FC will be entered in the Champions League with St Patrick’s Athletic, Derry City and Sligo Rovers participating in the Europa League.
All licences are awarded subject to the grounds meeting the criteria for a UEFA Category 2 stadium. As the Showgrounds in Sligo has not been used in UEFA competition since the new UEFA regulation came into force two years ago, a delegate from UEFA will visit Sligo in early May to determine its compliance.
