Shelbourne appoint assistant manager as Oguntola departs
Shelbourne have announced that Liam Kelly will join Owen Heary as assistant manager, while striker Sodiq Oguntola has left the club.
Kelly had a spell at Shels as a player from 1997 to 1999, and went on to join St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shamrock Rovers before finishing his career at Longford Town.
After retiring due to injury in 2005, Kelly managedd Loughshinny before taking the reigns at Balbriggan club Glebe North until the end of the 2015/2016 season.
Kelly will be looking to build on the instant impact that Heary has had after Shelbourne’s 2-0 win at home to Cobh Ramblers last Friday night.
Shels have also announced that Sodiq Oguntola has left the club after joining from Cabinteely at the start of the season.
Oguntola had scored two goals for the Reds this campaign with both goals coming against Cabinteely but had barely featured since scoring in the 4-0 win over his former club.
