Cork City announce friendly with Fulham

Cork City have announced they will host Championship side Fulham in a friendly on July 9th, days after the second leg of their first round Europa League game.

During their time on Leeside, The Cottagers will play two fixtures behind closed doors before facing off against last season's league and cup runners-up. Slavisa Jokanovic's side will then return to England for a friendly against Brighton & Hove Albion before jetting off to the Algarve in Portugal for two friendly games in five nights.

“We are going to a more colder place," the Fulham boss told getwestlondon.co.uk back in April when details of the trip first emerged. Fulham spent part of their 2015/16 pre-season in Portugal. "Generally, for British clubs it’s better, and we are going to Ireland."

Fulham won't be the only Championship side visiting Turner's Cross in July, as they are also set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 18th. Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is looking forward to seeing the set up in Cork.

“The facilities we are heading to come very well recommended,” Jackett told wolves.co.uk.

“It is a good training base, with excellent facilities, and the Republic of Ireland team will be using the same base before they go to the European Championships – that shows you the quality of the place.

“It will be a good fixture for us to play against Cork City at the start of the week as we continue our preparations for the new season.”

Tickets for the Fulham game will go on sale in the coming days priced at €15 for adults, €10 for juveniles and €5 under 13s and senior citizens.
