Sporting Fingal -v- Shelbourne
Two of the chasing pack meets at Morton Stadium on Friday as Shelbourne make the short trip to local rivals Sporting Fingal. Sporting will be in a confident mood, having won their last four league games and Shels, despite holding a two point lead over their rivals, will be desperate to get their promotion pursuit back on track following last week's loss to UCD.
Team News
Sporting’s Daniel Corcoran and Lorcan Fitzgerald won’t be available due to hamstring strains. Shane McFaul is back in training following an ankle problem but not yet sufficiently match-fit.
David McGill and David Cassidy both miss out as a result of having been sent off for Shels against UCD. Alan Keely misses out with hamstring injury while David McAllister (thigh) Damien Brennan (groin) and Kevin Doherty (thigh) are doubts.
Buckley’s view
“A massive performance will be required to get a result because Shels, as I expected, have started the campaign brightly,” said Buckley.
“Whatever the outcome in this game, it’s still too early in the campaign to have a telling affect on the title race but, from our perspective, we see this fixture as an opportunity to keep on the tails of league leaders UCD,” he added.
