GOALSCORERS
Bohemians' Jason Byrne has raced to the top of the top of the goalscorers charts following his three goals last week for the league leaders. Sligo's Raf Cretaro jumps up to joint second after netting the winner in the Brandywell, his first away from The Showgrounds this season. Thomas Stewart also continued his fine form by opening the scoring - the third time he has done this - at Richmond Park in mid-week.
Paul Byrne leads the way in the heading department, nodding in both his goals for Bray from Dane Massey crosses. While he did manage a penalty miss against Dundalk, Owen Morrison has been a big reason behind Sligo's recent turn in fortunes, providing three assists for goals scored in their two wins last week.
Barry Ryan is the only 'keeper to save a penalty thus far. Gary McCabe failed on that occasion at the Carlisle Grounds and the duties have since been handed to Jake Kelly, who has successfully converted two further spot kicks awarded to Bray.
Colin Healy doubled the number of successful free kicks at the weekend with his stunning effort against Shamrock Rovers, taking the numbers of goals scored from outside the 18-yard box to 10.
The goal average per game has increased to 2.03. Five of bottom club Drogheda's games have produced only a single goal or less, from which they've only managed a single point in the 0-0 draw with Bray.
REFEREES
The Premier Division has already had 14 different officials take charge of games. Dave McKeon leads the way, having reffed five, and had strangely overseen four consecutive 1-0 away wins before he took charge of Saturday's comfortable win for Bohemians, a team he has now seen up close on three occasions.
Between them, the referees have shown 10 red cards to date, twice waving them in Dundalk's Simon Kelly's direction. St Pat's Dave Partridge became the third to be shown a straight red, following Danny Ventre and Conor Kenna, with Kelly and five others players picking up second cautions.
APPEARANCES
25 players have been involved in every minute of every game their club has played. Cork City lead the way in this regard with six ever presents (Connor, Murray, Murphy, Healy, Gamble, and Dennehy).
While Tadgh Purcell did stake a claim for a starting berth with a goal in the EA Sports Cup last night, in the league he is the only player to have been introduced as a sub on all seven match nights.
Bray's John Mulroy and the Galway United pair of Alan Murphy and Declan Edwards have been sprung off the bench on six occasions each, but both Murphy and Edwards will be keenly pushing for their first starts following influential showings against Drogheda.
