League Preview: Cabinteely -v- UCD
CABINTEELY
Cabinteely welcome a UCD team to Stardbrook who have been beaten just once in their last four games.
In almost total contrast to their visitors, Cabo have found it difficult to find their feet this season.
They now find themselves coming into this game having lost their last six games. This includes the 5-0 drubbing they received from Shelbourne in the EA Sports Cup.
Defenders Michael Brown, Kevin Knight, Edward McDonagh and Sean Burke will need to on their best performance to stop Ryan Swan, Kieran “Marty Waters and co, while Cabo will be hoping they can manage to breach the Students’ rear-guard at the other end of the pitch.
Cabo manager Eddie Gormley only has one injury worry with Victor Ekanem sidelined.
Kick Off at Stradbrook is 19:45
UCD
UCD are well accustomed to beating their south Dublin rivals. In fact the students have won on every occasion in the five league meetings.
The Students left it very late to overcome Bluebell United in the Leinster Senior Cup during the week. Kieran 'Marty' Waters grabbed a brace, with his 2nd being a 119th minute winning goal in the 4-3 win.
Collie O’Neill has a well-polished squad at his disposal. In defence Adam Harney, Tomás Boyle, Maxi Kouogun and Mark Langtry are disciplined with Kouogun even doing a job at the other end having scored four goals already this season.
They also have playmaker Ryan Swan who was on the scoresheet against table toppers Limerick last week.
A win will put the students on 14 points as they continue their quest for Premier League football next term.
Goalkeeper Niall Corbet will miss the game through suspension after his red card at home to Limerick last week. Brian Shortall and Cathal Brady look almost definite to miss out once again while the likes of Dan Tobin and Ryan McLaughlin are unlikely to recover from respective injuries in time to play a part in the game.
