Prediction Challenge - Update

The results are in, and extratime.ie's stats computer, JIMMY, has fared best in the first of our weekly prediction challenges.

On a weekend where unlikely results were the norm in the Premier Division (a €5 accumulator on all five results would have netted in the region of €2,800), JIMMY struggled, but two correct scores from the First Division (Mervue 0-1 Shels and Fingal 1-0 Harps) brought his score to a semi-respectable 10 points from a possible 44.

Vincent Duffy was unfortunate that Paul Byrne's late, late winner at the Carlisle Grounds robbed him of points for his 1-1 prediction. Vincent had little faith in his own Dundalk side, but I'm sure he is more than happy that his crystal ball was way off the mark when he forecast a 1-0 win for Sligo. Vincent posted a total of four points.

Gordon Hunt fared slightly better, getting six outcomes right(5 out of 6 in the First Division) but failing to come up with a correct score. He was hoping UCD would replicate the goal-scoring feats of Sporting Fingal, and with half an hour left and UCD four to the good it was looking likely, but Kildare held out to ruin Gordon's prediction.

WEEK ONE
JIMMY - 10 points
Vincent Duffy - 4 points
Gordon Hunt - 6 points

With no First Division games midweek, we will wait until the Easter weekend round of fixtures for our next challenger, but JIMMY refuses to take time off and has gone for the following scores for Tuesday night's games:

Cork City 1 - 0 Drogheda United
Dundalk 2 - 1 Shamrock Rovers
Galway Utd 0 - 1 Bohemians
St Pats 1 - 2 Derry City
Sligo Rovers 0 - 1 Bray Wanderers
