UCD sign former Rovers winger Waters

UCD have announced the signing of former Shamrock Rovers winger Kieran ‘Marty’ Waters.

Speaking to the club's official website, Waters said he was delighted to be joining the First Division side.

"I'm glad to sign here, there's great people involved here and there has been for years,” he said.

“I've noticed in the last few weeks that training has been very good. There are a number of very talented, young players here that I think will go onto have very successful careers.

“We have a very talented squad that can certainly go all the way and win promotion. That's certainly the goal."

Waters started his senior career Bray Wanderers in 2010, before signing for the Tallaght club ahead of the 2014 season.

In 2015, Waters scoring twice in Rovers' Europa League campaign, with both goals coming in Rovers 3-0 win over Progrès.

Josh Collins, Georgie Kelly, Robert Manley have also signed for the first team after playing with the U19s.

Kelly played a key role in UCD Collingwood Cup success, scoring the equaliser in the final, as well as scoring two goals in their Harding Cup victory.
