Cork Drogs game to be free for fans

Cork chairman, Tom Coughlan, has today announced that the Series 6 tie between Cork City and Drogheda United at Turners Cross this coming Tuesday night will be free for EVERYBODY.

“We recognise that people are facing tough times at the moment; you only have to look at the papers or turn on the radio or TV to see that people are struggling financially,” Coughlan told the clubs official website.

The game clashes with the Champions League quarter finals and it is expected that attendances around the grounds will be hit badly. However, cash strapped Cork have decided that they will let people in free of charge to support the Rebel Army.

“As a football club which is rooted in the community, we feel an obligation to show some leadership and help to lift some of the doom and gloom and that is why we are offering the people of Cork the chance to come and watch City free of charge on Tuesday,” added Coughlan, whose tenure at the club has had a rocky start.
