Aaron Greene signs for Limerick
Former Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic player Aaron Greene has completed a move to First Division Limerick.
The versatile winger moves to the Shannonsiders after plying his trade with St Patrick’s Athletic for the past two seasons. During the 2015 campaign, Greene netted nine times in 31 appearances for the Inchicore outfit.
Greene has played in various positions for both Sligo and the Saints, including as a striker, which is a position where Limerick currently have very few options.
Limerick have now signed 14 senior players ahead of the 2016 season and are currently assessing a number of trialists. Furthermore, the club have used many players from their strong under-19s set up in pre-season.
Greene is the fourth new addition to the Limerick squad for the 2016 season, joining striker John O’Flynn and wingers Chris Mulhall and Garbhan Coughlan in committing to the club.
The Super Blues faithful will be excited by the capture of Greene as he brings valuable Premier Division experience to the club’s promotion push.
The well travelled Greene also played for Galway United, Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers since his arrival to the Airtricity League in 2009.
