Derry City to retire number 18 shirt in honour of Mark Farren
Derry City have announced they shall retire the number 18 shirt in honour of record goal-scorer Mark Farren, who passed away on February 3rd following a long battle with cancer.
The striker has received praise from all around the country and around the world of football, having worn the 18 shirt with distinction for nine years.
Farren scored 114 goals for the Candystrips, surpassing Liam Coyle for the club's all-time record in his final season at the club.
Derry will honour Farren during their friendly with Ballymena United on Friday night with a minute's applause in the 18th minute.
