Extratime.ie Key player: Emma Hansberry

The midfielder made the move to Wexford from Castlebar during the off season and has settled into her new club like a breath of fresh air. Hansberry’s ability from set-pieces along with her creative influence will be key for her side as they look to maintain their high standards set over the previous twelve months.

Extratime.ie One to watch: Rianna Jarrett

The Youths forward is currently finalising the final stages of recovery from a second ACL injury and is due to return to the pitch in a number of weeks. The stylish forward had rejoined Youths last December, but failed to feature for her side after being injured while at an Irish training camp in La Manga.

With her impending comeback just a number of weeks away, the forward will be hoping to hit the ground running as her side challenge on all fronts and therefore we feel her ability to find the back of the net will bolster both the Youths and Ireland’s attacking prowess.

How they did last season:

League:  Champions

Women’s FAI Cup: Semi-finals

League Cup: Semi-finals

What to expect this season:

After an impressive WNL Shield campaign, Youths have shown they have built on the infrastructure which manager Willie Doyle has brought in since his appointment. With the recent experience gained in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, Youths have also shown that despite a result not going their way they will continue to show their attacking flair that saw them claim a first National title.

With great strength in depth among the Youths squad, summer signings such as Ruth Fahy, Emma Hansberry and Linda Douglas have shown that the southeast club will be aiming to win all domestic trophies on offer.

Rianna Jarrett, another member of the Wexford jigsaw who almost returned to full fitness will send shivers down defenders necks when she graces a football pitch after a long recovery period.
