FORAS respond to Tom Coughlan interview
Cork City Supporters Trust, FORAS have this afternoon released a statement, in response to a Tom Coughlan interview which was broadcast on local radio this morning.
Coughlan, when asked on what sort of input the trust have had since he took over at the club last year, said that he hasn’t seen any financial contribution from the trust since they took over. However, he also stated that he would be open to more meetings with the trust.
In reply, FORAS said of their contribution: “FORAS have repeatedly made it clear that all requests for funding and financial support will be carefully considered if the correct procedure is followed. Correct procedure is to submit a request for funding in writing, stating clearly the amount required, and the purpose for which the funding is sought.
“FORAS wishes to make it absolutely clear that, as yet, no written request for financial support has ever been made by Cork City Football Club. In the event that such a request is received, the FORAS Board of Management will consult with the membership, and hold a ballot, if necessary, on a final decision.
“FORAS members are currently chairing, and heavily involved in running, the Match Night and Media & Promotions committees at CCFC, with members putting in a significant amount of time and effort to these activities on a purely voluntary basis. These committees have contributed considerably to reducing match night costs without a dilution of the match night experience, and increased revenue from 'City Edition' the match night programme.” added the statement.
