League Preview: Wexford Youths -v- Cobh Ramblers

WEXFORD YOUTHS

With six games to go, and a two-point lead at the top of the table, Wexford Youths host Cobh Ramblers full of confidence on Saturday night. One of the pre-season favourites will be looking for three points versus the mid-table Ramblers with UCD next in six days time.

 

Danny Furlong, on 24 goals already, will be looking to add to his fantastic total in front of a partisan Ferrycarrig Park that is starting to see good crowds again. With free buses laid on to the ground as well for the next 4 four home games, it can be expected that there will be another bumper crowd on Saturday night.

A run of three wins on the bounce going into this game allowed the Youths to regain some stability after a mid-season wobble prior to that with no wins in three.
 


COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh Ramblers travel to Wexford amid a run of four games in which they line up against the top 3 three teams in the division. Consequently, their last league win dates back to 31st July and they still need to get points on the board to stay in mid table.

Top scorer Stephen Kenny (7 goals) will have his work cut out against a mean Wexford defence as the Ramblers go in search of what would be a shock win.

Cobh have recently added Portuguese fitness and conditioning coach Pedro Rodrigues, the 35 year old from Ponte de Lima is perhaps a sign that the County Cork side are already looking towards next season and how they can improve.
