First Division Stats
Not one to be leaving the First Division neglected, I've trawled through the reams of data to unearth some juicy stats.
Goalscoring
UCD's Ciaran Kilduff has raced ahead as the early leader in the goalscoring charts, bagging four.
Jim Sheridan, Derek Glynn, Noel McGee, Emeka Onwubiko, Paddy Madden, Anto Flood, and Conor Gethins trail in his wake with two goals apiece.
The First Division has been the place for goals to date, with 42 goals leading to an average of 2.33 per game.
Longford Town lead the way in the entertainment stakes, with an average of 3.67 in their games to this point.
Shelbourne boss Dermot Keely has used his subs bench effectively, with all three of his side's winning goals coming from second half changes, two from Anto Flood and one from Paddy Madden.
The bias towards late goals is even more evident here, with 13(31%) in the final 15 minutes. Finn Harps lead the way in this vital sector, with a 3-0 aggregate score in the late stages of games. The Donegal side have yet to score before the 75th minute.
Longford Town are incredibly 5-0 to the good in the opening 15 minutes, while Waterford United fans have had to put up with an hour of inactivity in each of their clubs three games to date, all four either scored in the first 15 or last 15 minute spell.
Home or Away. Or Draw.
The 18 games played so far have provided the following results:
Home Wins: 8 (44%)
Away Wins: 5 (28%)
Draws: 5 (28%)
Amazingly, the five away wins have all been achieved by the same scoreline, 1-0, making it the most frequent in the Division. A 1-1 draw is next on the list (three occasions).
Comeback Kings
Only Athlone Town have come from behind to win so far this season, overpowering Kildare County at Lissywollen. Finn Harps are next on this table, having clawed back two points out of the fire with late goals.
