UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe Award 2014/2015

On Wednesday August 12th, UEFA will announce the final three nominees for the UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe Award for the 2014/2015 season.

The current shortlist consists of twelve players which is usually a shortlist of ten players. However, due to three players being ranked 10th on equal points they were included in the listing. The first round of selection was made by the coaches of the 8 teams that took part in last season's UEFA Women's Champions League Quarter-Final stage and the coaches of the 8 International coaches that represented Europe in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup which was won by the United States on July 5th.

The second round of voting is composed of 18 journalists who specialise in women's football and they have the task narrowing the listing down to final three on August 12th. The same jury will then cast their final votes during the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on August 28th to determine the outright winner.

The award was established in 2013 and has since been presented to two German internationals. The inaugural award was presented to shot stopper Nadine Angerer in 2013 and midfield star Nadine Kessler in 2014.
