Stuart Byrne joins St. Pat's
Former Drogheda United, Shelbourne and Longford midfielder, Stuart Byrne, has today been confirmed as a St. Patrick's Athletic player.
Speaking exclusively to stpatsfc.com Byrne explained how the move came about:
"The move had been hinted at for a couple of weeks but I didn't speak to Jeff (Kenna) until during the week.
"I wanted to take my time over the move this season but I'm delighted the move to Pats has come about.
"There's no hanging around now, no room for complacency, we're straight into the football and I'm really looking forward to it."
St Pats CEO Richard Sadlier feels that Byrne's experience will help his team achieve this season:
"Stuart is an experienced player and will add to the squad we have.
"I've no doubt he will have a big contribution to make and will assist is in achieving what we're setting out to achieve this season."
Byrne will be available to make his debut next Friday as the Saints travel to Sligo next Saturday hoping to build on last night's 1-0 victory in Cork.
