Continental Tyres Women's National League Award nominees announced

As the 2014/15 Continental Tyres Womens National League draws to a close the nominations for the Annual awards were announced today, with nominations both for Senior Player Of The Year and Young Player Of The Year as well as the 2014/15 Team Of The Year.

 

The players shortlisted for the Young Player as well as Player Of The Year award have been selected via a ballot of their peers for having an outstanding contribution during the 2014/15 season.

 

Champions Wexford Youths lead the nominations for Senior Player Of The Year with three of their league winning side shortlisted, in the form of Carol Breen, Claire O’Riordan and skipper Kylie Murphy.

 

UCD Waves have two members on the shortlist, with recent FAI Senior Women’s International Player Of The Year Julie Ann Russell and Aine O’Gorman both making the nomination list, while Raheny United starlet Katie McCabe completes the six women strong list.

 

The Champions are again heavily represented with two members shortlisted for Young Player Of The Year; Aisling Frawley and Ciara Rossiter; while the final nomination belongs to Cork City Women’s Shannon Carson.

 



Also announced today was the Team Of The Year, there are four clubs represented, Wexford Youths have six player selected while both UCD Waves and Raheny have two apiece with Galway WFC completing the selected 11.

 

The Continental Tyres Women’s National League Annual Awards 2015, an official luncheon takes place in the Clyde Court Hotel Wednesday 22nd of April were the winner of both Senior and Young Play Of The Year will be announced. The Team Of The Year will also be honoured for their achievements, while there will be a special services to women’s football award presented.
