Wexford Youths were aiming for a victory to ensure they got their celebrations off to a good start, but they came up against an inspired Peamount keeper in Brooke Dunne as she denied Youths forward Claire O’Riordan on several occasions in front of a large crowd home crowd in Ferrycarrig Park.

 

The only goal of the game arrived on the 68th minute when Pea’s defender Laura Traynor found the back of the net in what proved to be the match winner and gave the visitors their fourth victory on their travels this season.

 

After the full time whistle Wexford Youths captain Kylie Murphy was presented with the Continental Tyres Women’s National League trophy, while Peamount keeper Brooke Dunne was rewarded for her fine individual display with the Continental Tyres player of the match award.

 

Castlebar Celtic 4-2 Cork City Women



Celtic Park, 04/04/15

 

Cork City began the better of the two sides in Celtic Park and took the lead after Katie McCarthy found the back of the net on 28 minutes with her fourth goal of the season. Six minutes later the visitors double their lead thanks to Vanessa Ogbonna.

 

On the stroke of halftime the home side pulled a goal back thanks to Aisling Egan. As the second half began Castlebar pushed for an equaliser and they got their rewards when Rachel Kearns levelled affairs on the stroke of the hour.

 



Minutes later the home side took the lead for the first time in the game when Aoife Herbert recorded her third league goal of the season. Shaunagh Jackson added a fourth goal for the host with 15 minutes left on the clock to ensure all three points remained in Celtic Park.
