Wexford Youths

Wexford head into the game this Saturday knowing that victory last weekend in Morton Stadium against Raheny United was enough to secure the title.

From their 16 league games this season the newly crowned champions have dropped just five league points and will be aiming to ensure they record a victory in their final home game of the season.

After the fixture on Saturday evening in Ferrycarrig Park the Youths players will be presented with the league trophy and Extratime.ie spoke to one of the goalscorers from last weekend’s vital win Amy Walsh about Saturday’s game and the atmosphere within the camp.

“Everything is still in full flow as it would be normally for match preparation, we still trained during the week as normal for the game on Saturday. It is going to be a tough game, Peamount are always a strong side to come up against.

“They have a mixture of young players and some experienced players given time they will be contesting for the league. We are fully concentrated on the game and still looking to get 3 points against them.

“Everyone is buzzing and super excited, were still on a high after the win against Raheny to win the league. Everyone just can't wait for Saturday to come to lift the cup.”

Youths boss Doyle has a full squad to select from for Saturday’s game, with only long term absentee Rianna Jarrett missing due to a knee injury.

Peamount United

Peamount make the journey to play the newly crowned league champions on the back of a very strong victory at home against bottom side Cork City.

The away side scored seven goals and they will be hoping that they can catch their hosts in party mode and can come away from Ferrycarrig Park with a valuable three points in the race for fourth place.

Peamount’s Jess Gargan spoke to Extratime.ie about the visitor’s task on Saturday evening and how the squad is feeling after returning to winning ways after a run of bad defeats.

“We were both satisfied and relieved, it was good to get a win under our belts as we went a few games struggling to get a victory. It gave us more belief in ourselves that when we work together and keep ourselves composed we can break down other teams.

“We are confident going into the game against Wexford, we've been doing good in training and are excited to play against the league champions.

“We're under no illusion that it's not going to be an easy game, Wexford are a great unit that work very well for each other and we expect a tough game. We're aiming for 3 points and good individual and team performances as we come near to the league cup final.”

Pea’s Boss Robbie Mulligan must plan without the services of Anna McCormack, Linda Douglas, Mags Doyle and Michele Dunne, while Eleanor Ryan Doyle and Lucy McCartan also unavailable due to Ireland WU17s commitments.
