Sunday afternoon Cork City make the long journey to Dublin with the aim of collecting their first victory of the season against Peamount United.

Peamount United

The home side are heading into this fixture on the back of three poor results, which culminated in a 7-0 home defeat to UCD Waves in the previous round of fixtures.

Peamount boss Mulligan explains it’s about performances rather than picking up results,

“We’ve had a poor run of form. We’re a young squad and we won’t hide behind that. We’ve made mistakes but we’re not focusing on results.”

Although heading into Sunday’s game the Peamount boss is fully aware that Cork are coming into this game aiming to cause an upset and collect the three points.

Peamount must plan without the services of Anne McCormack, Linda Douglas and Mags Doyle who all miss the game due to injuries.

Cork City FC

Cork City’s struggles in the Women’s National League continue and they come into the clash with Peamount on the back of seven straight defeats stretching back to last November, when recovering from a two goal deficit to collect a point at home against the same opposition.

In their last outing Cork suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands second from bottom Galway WFC in Bishopstown, and the Cork back four will be hoping to shore up the holes in their defence if they are to get a result in the capital on Sunday.

Cork must plan without the services of Angie Carry who misses out due to injury, while Marena Bustillo misses the fixture due to family commitments.
