Algarve Cup Match Day 3 Preview

After an exciting weekend at the women's international football seminar in Hotel Dom Pedro Vilamoura, we are now preparing for the final group games of the 22nd edition of the Algarve Cup that take place tomorrow.

 

ExtraTime.ie will have full live updates of two of the games and some behind the scenes access to global stars of the women's game including five time Ballon D'or recipient Marta.

 

The first game kicks off at 2:10pm in Parchal between current World Champions Japan and France. The game will be a decisive game as France leads Group C with six points after two games and hope that any result against Japan will give them the ticket to be in the Algarve Cup final.

 

Another exciting game follows this match up at 5:30pm when current European champions Germany face Brazil. Brazil are leading in Group A with 4 points from two games and Germany are currently third in the group with 3 points from two games. The USA are leading Group B with six points from two games and look to be set for the final if they secure a result versus Iceland

 

The Algarve Cup final is set to take place on Wednesday which will be contested by the two best teams from the three groups. The Algarve Cup final will be contested by If any two teams or more have the same number of points after the group matches, the final classification will be determined by best results against each other, the greater goal difference, the best fair play ranking or the best FIFA ranking.
