This Sunday in Ferrycarrig Park is no doubt the pick of the weekend’s league fixtures, in a huge game that sees high flying league leaders Wexford Youths play defending champions Raheny United in what can only be described as a huge six pointer. A win for Wexford would see them extend their lead at the top of the table to ten points, while a Raheny would close the gap to just four points.

Both sides head into this game in excellent form, Wexford winning all four outings in 2015 scoring an impressive 18 goals and conceding no goals in the process with victories over Peamount United, UCD Waves, Cork City fc and Castlebar Celtic.

Raheny have won their last two fixtures after a slow start to 2015. There last two victory against Castlebar Celtic and Cork City has seen the Dublin side score 19 goals while conceding just once. Raheny’s Katie McCabe, who found the net six times in Cork last Sunday, will be hoping to continue her impressive form that earned an Ireland call up to the senior squad last month.

Both sides must also plan without key players for Sunday's game. In the Wexford Youths camp Rianna Jarrett is a long term absentee as well as Jess Gleeson is still working her way back from injury, Carol Breen, Nicola Sinnott and Mary Rose Kelly are also doubtful. While in the Raheny United manager Casey McQuillan must also plan without trio Niamh Barnes, Clare Shine and Rachel Graham as they work their way back to fitness.

In two previous meeting this season Raheny United have come out on top, a 5-2 in Ferrycarrig Park in the second round of league fixtures, Raheny also claimed victory in the semi-final of the FAI cup coming out 3-2 winners after extra time.
