WNL Preview: Wexford Youths -v- Raheny United

A highly anticipated game is set to take place this weekend at Ferrycarrig Park on Sunday, February 22nd. Continental Tyres Women's National League leaders Wexford Youths will play host to current champions Raheny United with the game scheduled for a 2pm kick off.

Speaking to ExtraTime.ie ahead of the big game, Raheny United's captain Rebecca Creagh stated, "The nerves are fine. We have played in a major amount of big games so we're well used to it". Raheny go into the game seven points behind the current league leaders with two games in hand. Creagh also said "they won't be treating it (the game) like a huge spectacle as it is after all only another game so we will treat it the same".

On the other hand Wexford must be feeling a bit more relaxed ahead of the game knowing a draw or a win could give them crucial points towards winning their first league title. Youth's assistant manager Gary Hunt had the following to say to ExtraTime.ie, "We have had a good week training in preparation for Sunday. The girls are excited to get on the pitch and show why they are in this position. These are the games you play football for."

Other league fixtures taken place on Sunday are:

Peamount United vs Cork City Women's FC, Greenogue at 2pm
