2015 First Division fixtures released

The Fixtures for the SSE Airtricity First Division are out and the league’s newest members, Cabinteely FC, were given a home game on the opening weekend against Wexford Youths.

Cabinteely will play their historic first league game at Stradbrook, the home ground of Blackrock RFC on Friday 6th March with a 7.45 pm kick-off.

Other fixtures on the opening night see Waterford United hosting Athlone Town at the RSC in what will be Eddie Wallace’s first league game in charge of the Midlanders, while Kevin Doherty is another young boss going into the first league fixture of his managerial career. His Shelbourne side will play host to Finn Harps.

Saturday 7th March will see the fourth First Division tie of the weekend taking place in Cork where Cobh Ramblers will entertain newly relegated UCD at St Colman’s Park.

Finn Harps will be among the first to get a glimpse of the League newcomers when their first home game of the season sees Cabinteely travel to Donegal on the second weekend.

Week two also sees two derbies with Wexford Youths enjoying the visit of near neighbours Waterford in Ferrycarrig Park’s first competitive game of the year, while Shelbourne will travel across the Liffey to play UCD at the Belfield Bowl.
