Kane returns to Bray as Mitchell re-signs

Following a period of recent speculation, Bray Wanderers have announced the return of goalkeeper Brian Kane to the club. Joining Kane in the Wanderers squad for 2015 will be defender Adam Mitchell who extends his stay with the Seagulls by a further season.

Kane re-joins the Co. Wicklow club following a two year hiatus during which time he lined out with Leinster Senior League side Malahide United. Kane originally joined Bray from schoolboy outfit W.F.T.A in 2008 before leaving the Seagulls prior to the start of the 2013 season having spent the vast majority of the previous campaign playing second fiddle to Darren Quigley.

On returning to the Carlisle Grounds for a second stint, Kane will face stiff competition from promising young goalkeeper Stephen McGuinness for the Wanderers number one jersey should he wish to establish himself as first choice between the posts on Quinsborough Road. The Crumlin United graduate McGuinness produced a string of fine performances that saw him pick up the club's 2014 'Player of the Year' award.

By committing to the Seasiders for 2015, former Republic of Ireland amateur international Mitchell will enter his sixth season at the club having joined from Bangor Celtic in July 2010. Since making his debut in a league defeat at home to the now defunct Sporting Fingal in that same month, the 31-year-old centre half has twice been voted Wanderers' 'Player of the Month'.

In putting the pen to paper for the forthcoming season, Mitchell becomes the ninth member of the club's squad from last term retained by manager Alan Mathews.

In other news, Bray Wanderers have launched their away jersey for the 2015 season which can be seen above.
