Raheny United feature first in new NEAR FM radio series
Dublin clubs Raheny United, St. Kevin’s Boys and Sheriff YC are set to feature in a new three part series on NEAR FM.
The three part series starting on Tuesday December 2nd tells the story of each individual club’s rise to fame in a very short time period.
Tuesday’s first edition focuses on Women’s National League champions Raheny United. The club was formed when Raheny Boys and Dunseedy United merged. Within 20 years Raheny United have established themselves as one of the main clubs in women’s football while retaining their position as a thriving men’s club.
St. Kevin’s Boys are the next club up on Tuesday December 9th, with Irish football legend Liam Brady telling about the beginning of his career with the club.
St. Kevin’s Boys are now renowned as the leading force in school boy football and we will hear what it takes to pull the famous St. Kevin’s shirt.
The final episode looks at Sheriff YC, twice winners of the FAI Junior cup in 2012 and 2013, a club steeped in the local community who uses their success to improve on lives of people all around them.
Dave Hooper produced and narrated the series and has previously worked on NEAR FM’s award winning football series.
The series will be a part of Tuesday night sport and begins on Tuesday December 2nd at 6:30pm on Near FM.
