Foster delighted O'Shea still at Galway
Galway United boss Ian Foster last night spoke for the first time about the on-off January transfer saga involving U23 international Jay O'Shea and admitted that the likelihood of a move cross-channel was still a real possibility for the talented 20-year-old.
"I felt for Jay, it was a disappointment for him not to get the move to England. He's come back in, there's no airs and graces about Jay, he fits in perfectly in the squad and he's a good lad to have around the dressing room. He knows the deal is not dead in the water if he carries on in the same vein as he left off last season.
"He's too talented to not go and play in England, it will happen for him. From a selfish point of view, I was absolutely delighted to have him back. I think a few of the directors were upset by it but I was doing cartwheels. He's absolutely massive for us."
