Peter Hutton Signs New Deal Until 2016
Derry City have tied down their manager on a new two-year contract that will last until the end of the 2016 season.
Peter Hutton replaced Roddy Collins Snr in the middle of May and has turned around Derry City’s fortunes. The team have gone from scoring only eight goals in the twelve games that Collins was in charge, to scoring twenty-five goals in the last nine games since Hutton has been at the helm, including the recent four-nil win over Bohemians.
Hutton has taken them from seventh, and two points from eleventh and a relegation play-off, to fifth in the table. The team is also on a four game win streak at the moment.
Speaking to derrycityfc.net, Chairman Peter O’Doherty said “Peter has really hit the ground running and has achieved a much improved level of performance. This 2 year extension is a vote of confidence in his approach and a recognition of the hard work he has put in, over the last 4/5 weeks.”
